箴言全书综合拾穗

 

【总论全书的中心意义】箴言是实际的伦理学,是真人生哲学,根本于“敬畏耶和华是智慧的开端,认识至圣者便是聪明”(九10)。因为“敬畏耶和华,就是生命的泉源”。“敬畏耶和华的,得着生命,他必恒久知足,不遭祸患”(十九23)。其中心意义,即把从天上来的智慧,实验在地上的人生里;把历代的箴规;都集中在日常生活里。虽是特别侧重在现世的生活,但其视线,却常影射到来世的生活。全书纲领即以“神为人生的中心”。——贾玉铭《箴言要义》

 

【箴言与古代近东文献的应和】好几篇埃及和美索不达米亚的智慧文学都包括了与箴言对应的段落(包括语言上、风格上、内容上的对应之处)。来自埃及的包括了(按时间先后次序):《蒲他霍特普的教训》(约主前2500年)、《善辩之农夫的故事》(约主前2000年)、《阿曼尼摩比的教诲》(约主前1200年)、《安肖桑基的教诲》(约主前200年)。此外《孟斐斯创世神学》(Memphite Theology of Creation)(约主前2200年)和《自杀论辩》(约主前2000年)亦有与箴言应和之处。亚述的《阿希卡尔的言词》(约主前700年)和乌加列的《巴力与亚拿特》和《阿赫特》两篇史诗(约主前1400年),亦包含了类似的箴言性话语。这些智慧文学著作的相似之处,大部分都可以归因于智慧话语的普世性,此外,抄袭他人语句、意象、箴言,甚至整个譬喻或故事,也是极之普遍的作法。──《旧约圣经背景注释》

 

【箴言的应用】古代的箴言和现代的交谈一样,都是用口语方式传达论点的方法。古今皆然,被视为古代智慧的话,值得人认真思考(见:撒上二十四13)。因此当人引用「省得一文等于赚得一文」的谚语时,他是以个人节俭为智慧。同样,先知以西结引用「母亲怎样,女儿也怎样」(结十六)的谚语时,他也是谴责耶路撒冷跟随「母亲」撒玛利亚走上邪路的行为(参较:耶三611;该处经文使用「姊妹」关系,来表达同样的主题)。以西结更用箴言来表示政策或命运的改变。例如在以西结书十八23,先知引用的谚语表面看来只是承认看见别人吃酸东西,自己口中也会觉得酸这个人所共知的事实。然而在以色列,这句谚语却用来表达团体性责任的法律概念:儿子要为父亲的罪负责(见:出二十5)。但如今以西结却宣称人受惩罚只会是因为自己的罪,不再会是因为别人的罪。因此,「在以色列中,必不再有用这俗语的因由。」

  箴言的效力当然完全在乎引用时的上文下理。是以箴言书的作者指出:「瘸子的脚,空存无用;箴言在愚昧人的口中也是如此」(箴二十六7)。其他智能文学也有同样的说法。例如:《安肖桑基的教诲》警告说:「愚昧人不能分辨教训和侮辱」;而《阿曼尼摩比的教诲》则指出不当「听从愚昧人的忠告」,因为他们的说话「如暴风吹过」,没有实质。因此,箴言不是供人背诵,人人都能理解的句子。其教训只有睿智的师傅才能分析阐明。它就如学校课程一样,假定要透过老师,才能成就其目标。──《旧约圣经背景注释》

 

【箴言是通则性真理】箴言所载的智慧虽然有放诸四海皆准的特色,其中很多的话语都是当时近东文化和集体常识的表现。但必须留意的一点,是「遵守我的命令,就得存活」(箴七2),「耶和华不使义人受饥饿」(箴十3)等话,都不是直接的的应许,也不是普世性的真理。圣经世界的价值观未必一定能够原封不动地转移到现代来。此外,贫穷、需要和渴求等现实,也不一定与公义不足有关,可能不过是经济问题、心理缺陷,或社会弊病的表现而已。

  因此理解现代箴言的准则,亦可应用于古代箴言之上(圣经和经外的都包括在内)。它们并不是绝对真理的表现,而是对于人生境遇的真确观点。「四月阵雨带来五月花开」不是应许,也不是保证。恶未必一定有恶报。有时同一个问题可以有完全相反的解决办法,证明了上述现代箴言的特点,亦可见于圣经箴言之中。箴言二十六4忠告人不要照愚昧人的愚妄话回答他,但下一节圣经却又鼓励人要照愚昧人的愚妄话回答他。事实上在某些情况之下,第4节是合宜的方针,在其他的情况下,则应依从第5节。应当依从哪个忠告,往往得视当时的情况而定,智慧人知道应当采取什么行动。现代的箴言其实也有同样的「矛盾」倾向。例如:「犹豫者错失良机」,但要「三思而后行」;或「物以类聚」,但「异性相吸」。──《旧约圣经背景注释》

工作

神控制我们一切工作的结果,但我们仍有责任努力并照着训戒工作,不可懒惰。

神要评估我们的生活,所以我们要热心工作,不怠慢也不自满。

成功

人拚命争名夺利以期成功,神却认为成功是有美好的声誉、良好的德行,以及在灵性上忠心地顺服祂。

人与神的良好关系会存到永远,其他一切皆会灭亡。我们的一切资源、时间、才华,皆由神而来,我们要有智能地使用它们。

【四种言语】

【殷勤与懒惰】

箴言清楚指出殷勤是智慧生活的重要部分。殷勤就是甘愿勤劳地工作,凡交托给自己的事,都尽力去做,并做到最好。虽然我们殷勤工作,或许可使我们名成利就,受人尊敬,但我们殷勤工作绝不为此,而是在我们一生中尽力事奉神。

【诚实与欺诈】

11:9 不虔敬的人用口败坏邻舍,义人却因知识得救。

With his mouth a hypocrite destroyeth his neighbourbut through knowledge are the righteous delivered.

11:10 义人享福,合城喜乐;恶人灭亡,人都欢呼。

When it goeth well with the righteousthe city rejoice- thand when the wicked perishthere is shouting.

11:18 恶人经营,得虚浮的工价;撒义种的,得实在的果效。

The wicked worketh a deceitful workbut he that soweth righteousness hath a sure reward.

11:19 恒心为义的,〔必得〕生命;追求邪恶,〔必致〕死亡。

As rihgteousness [tendeth] to lifeso he that pursueth evil [doeth it] to his own death.

11:21 恶人〔虽然〕连手,必不免受罚;义人的后裔,必得拯救。

Hand for hand! an evil [man] shall not be held innocentbut the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.

11:23 义人的心愿尽得好处,恶人的指望致干忿怒。

The desire of the righteous is only goodthe expecta- tion of the wicked is wrath.

11:27 恳切求善的,就求得恩惠,惟独求恶的,恶必临到他身。

He that is earnest after good seeketh favourbut he that searcheth for mischiefit shall come upon him.

11:28 倚仗自己财物的,必跌倒,义人必发旺如青叶。

He that trusteth in his riches shall fallbut the righte- ous shall flourish as a leaf.

11:30 义人所结的果子就是生命树,有智慧的必能得人。

The fruit of the righteous is a tree of lifeand the wise winneth souls.

11:31 看哪,义人在世尚且受报,何况恶人和罪人呢?

Beholdthe righteous shall be requited on the earth how much more the wicked and the sinner.

12:3 人靠恶行不能坚立,义人的根必不动摇。

A man shall not be established by wickednessbut the root of the righteous shall not be moved.

12:5 义人的思念是公平,恶人的计谋是诡诈。

The thoughts of the righteous are rightthe counsels of the wicked are deceit.

12:7 恶人倾覆,归与无有;义人的家,必站得住。

Overthrow the wickedand they are no [more]but the house of the righteous shall stand.

A righteous man is concerned for the life of his beastbut the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

12:12 恶人想得坏人的网罗,义人的根得以结实。

The wicked desireth the net of evil [men]but the root of the righteous yieldeth [fruit].

In the transgression of the lips is an evil snarebut a righteous [man] shall go forth out of trouble.

12:21 义人不遭灾害,恶人满受祸患。

There shall no evil happen to a righteous [man]but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.

The righteous guideth his neighbourbut the way of the wicked misleadeth them.

In the path of righteousness is lifeand in the pathway thereof there is no death.

A righteous [man] hateth lyingbut the wicked maketh himself odious and cometh to shame.

Righteousness preserveth him that is perfect in the waybut wickedness overthroweth the sinner.

Evil pursueth sinnersbut to the righteous good shall be repaid.

A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's childrenbut the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the righteous [man].

13:23 穷人耕种多得粮食,但因不义,有消灭的。

Much food is in the tillage of the poorbut there is that is lost for want of judgment.

13:25 义人吃得饱足,恶人肚腹缺粮。

The ringhteous eateth to the satisfying of his soulbut the belly of the wicked shall want.

14:19 坏人俯伏在善人面前;恶人俯伏在义人门口。

The evil bow before the goodand the wicked at the gates of the righteous [man].

14:22 谋恶的,岂非走入迷途吗?谋善的,〔必得〕慈爱和诚实。

Do they not err that devise evil? but loving-kindness and truth are for those that devise good.

The wicked is driven away by his evil-doingbut the righteous trusteth [even] in his death.

Righteousness exalteth a nationbut sin is a reproach to peoples.

The heart of a righteous [man] studieth to answerbut the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.

Jehovah is far from the wickedbut he heareth the prayer of the righteous.

By loving-kindness and truth iniquity is atoned forand by the fear of Jehovah [men] depart from evil.

16:8 多有财利,行事不义,不如少有财利,行事公义。

Better is a little with righteousnessthan great revenues without right.

The just balance and scales are Jehovah'sall the weights of the bag are his work.

16:12 作恶,为王憎恶,因国位是靠公义坚立。

It is an abomination to kings to conunit wickednessfor the throne is established by righteousness.

Righteous lips are the delight of kingsand they love him that speaketh aright.

16:27 匪徒图谋奸恶,嘴上仿佛有烧焦的火。

A man of Belial diggeth up evaland on hislips there is as a scorching fire.

16:31 白发的荣耀的冠冕,在公义的道上,必能得着。

The hoary head is a crown of glory[if] it is found in the way of righteousness.

17:11 恶人只寻背叛,所以必有严厉的使者,奉差攻击他。

An evil [man] seeketh only rebellionbut a cruel messenger shall be sent against him.

17:13 以恶报善的,祸患必不离他的家。

Whoso rewardeth evil for goodevil shall not depart from his house.

17:15 定恶人为义的,定义人为恶的,这都为耶和华所憎恶。

He that justifieth the wickedand he that condemneth the righteouseven they both are abomination to Jehovah.

17:26 刑罚义人为不善;责打君子为不义。

To punish a righteous [man] is not goodnor to strike nobles because of [their] uprightness.

18:3 恶人来,藐视随来;羞耻到,辱骂同到。

When the wicked comeththere cometh also contemptand with ignominy reproach.

It is not good to accept the person of the wickedto wrong the righteous in judgment.

The name of Jehovah is a strong tower:the righteous runneth into itand is safe.

A witness of Belial scorneth judgmentand the mouth of the wicked swalloweth down inipuity.

20:7 行为纯正的义人,他的子孙是有福的。

The righteous walketh in his integrity: blessed are his children after him!

A king sitting on the throne ofjudgment scattereth away all evil with his eyes.

20:9 谁能说,我洁净了我的心,我脱净了我的罪?

Who can sayI have made my heart cleanI am pure from my sin?

21:3 行仁义公平,比献祭更蒙耶和华悦纳。

To exercise justice and judgment is more acceptable to Jehovah than sacrifice.

21:12 义人思想恶人的家,知道恶人倾倒,必至灭亡。

One that is righteous wisely considereth the house of the wicked: he overthroweth the wicked to [their] min.

21:15 秉公行义使义人喜乐,使作孽的人败坏。

It is joy to a righteous [man] to do what is rightbut it is ruin for the workers of iniquity.

21:18 恶人作了义人的赎价,奸诈人代替正直人。

The wicked is a ransom for the righteousand a treache- rous [man] in the stead of the upright.

21:21 追求公义仁慈的,就寻得生命、公义和尊荣。

He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth liferighteousnessand honour.

He coveteth greedily all the day longbut the righteous giveth and spareth not.

21:27 恶人的祭物是可憎的,何况他存恶意来献呢?

The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more when they bring it with a wicked purpose!

智慧七柱:殷勤Diligence

10:4 手懒的,要受贫穷;手勤的,却要富足。

He cometh to want that dealeth with a slack handbut the hand of the diligent maketh rich.

10:5 夏天聚敛的,是智慧之子;收割时沉睡的,是贻羞之子。

He that gathereth in summer is a wise sonhe that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.

10:26 懒惰人叫差他的人,如醋倒牙,如烟熏目。

As vinegar to the teethand as smoke to the eyesso is the sluggard to them that send him.

12:11 耕种自己田地的,必得饱食,追随虚浮的,却的无知。

He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with breadbut he that followeth the worthless is void of understanding.

12:24 殷勤人的手必掌权;懒惰的人必服苦。

The hand of the diligent shall bear rulebut the slothful [hand] shall be under tribute.

12:27 懒惰的人不烤打猎所得的;殷勤的人却得宝贵的财物。

The slothful roasteth not what he took in huntingbut man's precious substance is to the diligent.

13:4 懒惰人羡慕,却无所得,殷勤人必得丰裕。

Wealth ]gotten] by vanity diminishethbut he that gathereth bymanual-labour shall increase [it].

13:11 不劳而得之财必然消耗;勤劳积蓄的必见加增。

Wealth [gotten] by vanity diminishethbut he that gathereth by manual-labour shall increase [it].

14:4 家里无牛,槽头干净,土产加多,乃凭牛力。

Where no oxen arethe crib is cleanbut much increase is by the strength of the ox.

14:23 诸般动劳都有益处,嘴上多言乃至穷乏。

In all labour there is profitbut the talk of the lips [tendeth] only to want.

15:19 懒惰人的道,像荆棘的篱笆;正直人的路;是平坦的大道。

The way of the sluggard is as a hedge of thornsbut the path of the upright is made plain.

18:9 做工懈怠的,与浪费人为弟兄。

He also who is indolent in his work is brother of the destroyer.

Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleepand the idle soul shall suffer hunger.

19:24 懒惰人放手在盘子里,就是向口撤回,他也不肯。

A sluggard burieth his hand in the dish, and will not even bringit to his mouth again.

20:4 懒惰人因冬寒不肯耕种,到收割的时候,他必讨饭而无所得。

The sluggard will not plough by reason of the winterhe shall beg in harvestand have nothing.

20:13 不要贪睡,免致贫穷;眼要睁开,你就吃饱。

Love not sleeplest thou come to povertyopen thine eyes[and] thou shalt be satisfied with bread.

21:5 殷勤策划的,足致丰裕;行事急噪的,都必缺乏。

The thoughts of the diligent [tend] only to plenteous- nessbut of every one that is hastyonly to want.

21:25 懒惰人的心愿将他杀害,因为他手不肯做工。

10:9 行正直路的,步步安稳;走弯曲道的,必致败露。

He that walketh in integrity walketh securelybut he that perverteth his ways shall be known.

10:29 耶和华的道是正直人的保障,却成了作孽人的败坏。

The way of Jehovah is strength to the perfect [man]but destruction to the workers of iniquity.

11:3 正直人的纯正必引导自己;奸诈人的乖僻必毁灭自己。

The integrity of the upright guideth thembut the crookedness of the unfaithful destroyeth them.

11:11 城因正直人祝福便高举,却因邪恶人的口就倾覆。

By the blessing of the upright the city is exaltedbut it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.

11:20 心中乖僻的,为耶和华所憎恶,行事完全的;为祂所喜悦。

The perverse in heart are abomination to Jehovahbut they that are perfect in [their] way are his delight.

12:2 善人必蒙耶和华的恩惠,设诡计的人,耶和华必定他的罪。

A good [man] obtaineth favour of Jehovahbut a man of mischievous devices will he condemn.

12:6 恶人的言论是埋伏流人的血,正直人的口必拯救人。

The words of the wicked are a lying-in-wait for bloodbut the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.

12:8 人必按自己的智慧被称颂,心中乖谬的,必被藐视。

A man is commended according to his wisdombut he that is of a perverted heart shall be despised.

12:20 图谋恶事的,心存诡诈,劝人和睦的,便得喜乐。

Deceit in the heart of them that devise evilbut to the counsellors of peace is joy.

A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouthbut the soul of the treacherousviolence.

Fools make a mock at trespassbut for the uptight there is favour.

A violent man enticeth his neighbourand leadeth him into a way that is not good.

A gift is a precious stone in the eyes of the possessor: whithersoever it turneth it prospereth.

17:20 心存邪僻的,寻不着好处;舌弄是非的,陷在祸患中。

He that hath a perverse heart findeth no goodand he that shifteth about with his tongue falleth into evil.

17:23 恶人暗中受贿赂,为要颠倒判断。

A wicked [man] taketh a gift out of the bosomto pervert the paths of judgment.

19:1 行为纯正的贫穷人,胜过乖谬愚妄的〔富足〕人。

Better is a poor [man] that walketh in his integritythan he that is perverse in his lipsand is a fool.

20:7 行为纯正的义人,他的子孙是有福的。

The righteous walketh in his integrity: blessed are his children after him!

20:11 孩童的动作,是清洁、是正直,都显明他的本性。

Even a child is known by his doingswhether his work be pureand whether it be right.

21:7 恶人的强暴,必将自己扫除,因他们不肯按公平行事。

The devastation of the wicked sweepeth them awaybecause they refuse to do what is right.

Very crooked is the way of a guilty manbut as for the purehis work is upright.

The merciful man doeth good to his own soulbut the cruel troubleth his own flesh.

There is that scatterethand yet increasethand there is that withholdeth more than is rightbut [it tendeth] only to want.

The liberal soul shall be made fatand he that watereth shall be watered also himself.

He that withholdeth cornthe people curse him: but blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it.

Better is a meal of herbs where love isthan a fatted ox and hatred therewith.

Whoso mocketh a poor [man] reproacheth his Makerhe that is glad at calamity shall not be held innocent.

He that covereth transgression seeketh lovebut he that bringeth a matter up again separateth very friends.

The friend loveth at all tunesand a brother is born for adversity.

A brother offended is [harder to be won] than a strong cityand contentions are as the bars of a palace.

18:23 贫穷人说哀求的话,富足人用威吓的话回答。

He that is poor speaketh with supplicationsbut the rich answereth roughly.

19:6 好施散的,有多人求他的恩情;爱送礼的,人都为他的朋友。

Many court the favour of a nobleand every one is friend to man that giveth.

19:11 人有见识,就不轻易发怒;宽恕人的过失,便是自己的荣耀。

The discretion of a man maketh him slow to angerand it is his glory to pass over a transgression.

19:17 怜悯贫穷的,就是借给耶和华,他的善行,耶和华必偿还。

He that is gracious to the poor lendeth unto Jehovahand what he hath bestowed will he repay unto him.

17:7 愚顽人说美言本不相宜,何况君王说谎话呢?

Excefcnt speech becometh not a vile [man]how much less do lying lips a noble!

18:8 传舌人的语言,如同美食深入人的心腹。

The words of a talebearer are as dainty morselsand they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.

19:5 作假见证的,必不免受罚;吐出谎言的,终不能逃脱。

A false witness shall not be held innocentand he that uttereth lies shall not escape.

20:17 以虚谎而得的食物,人觉甘甜,但后来他的口必充满尘沙。

Bread of falsehood is sweet to a manbut afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel.

20:23 两样的砝码,为耶和华所憎恶,诡诈的天平也为不善。

Divers weights are an abomination unto Jehovahand a false balance is not good.

20:28 王因仁慈和诚实,得以保全他的国位,也因仁慈立稳。

Mercy and truth preserve the kingand he upholdeth his throne by mercy.

21:6 用诡诈之求财的,就是自己取死,所得之财,乃是吹来吹去的浮云。

The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a fleeting breath of them that seek death.

21:28 作假见证的必灭亡,惟有听真情而言的,其言长存。

A lying witness shall perishand a man that heareth shall speak constantly.

智慧七柱:节制Self-control

10:19 多言多语难免有过,禁止嘴唇是有智慧。

In the multitude of words there wanteth not transgre- ssionbut he that restraineth his lips doeth wisely.

12:16 愚妄人的恼怒立时显露,通达人能忍辱藏羞。

The vexation of the fool is presently knownbut a prudent [man] covereth shame.

12:18 说话浮躁的,如刀刺人,智慧人的舌头,却为医人的良药。

There is that babbleth like the piercings of a swordbut the tongue of the wise is health.

13:3 谨守口的,得保生命;大张嘴的,必致败亡。

He that guardeth his mouth keepeth his souldestruction shall be to him that openeth wide his lips.

14:17 轻易发怒的,行事愚妄;设立诡计的,被人恨恶。

He that is soon angry dealeth foolishlyand a man of mischievous devices is hated.

14:23 诸般勤劳都有益处,嘴上多言乃致穷乏。

In all labour there is profitbut the talk of the lips [tendeth] only to want.

14:29 不轻易发怒的,大有聪明;性情暴躁的,大显明愚妄

He that is slow to anger is of great understandingbut he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.

15:1 回答柔和,使怒消退;言语暴戾,触动怒气。

A soft answer turneth away furybut a grievous word stirreth up anger.

15:18 暴怒的人挑启争端;忍怒的人止息纷争。

A furious man stirreth up contentionbut he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.

16:32 不轻易发怒的,胜过勇士;治服己心的,强如取城。

He that is slow to anger is better than the mightyand he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.

17:14 纷争的起头〔如〕水放开,所以在争闹之先,必当止息争竞。

The beginning of contention is [as] when one letteth out watertherefore leave off strife before it become vehement.

17:19 喜爱争竞的,是喜爱过犯;高立家门的,乃自取败坏。

He loveth transgression that loveth a quarrelhe that maketh high his gate seeketh destruction.

17:27 寡少言语的有知识;性情温良的有聪明。

He that hath knowledge spareth his wordsand a man of understanding is of a cool spirit.

17:28 愚昧人若静默不言,也可算为智慧,闭口不说,也可算为聪明。

Even a fool when he holdeth his peace is reckoned wise[and] he that shutteth his lipsintelligent.

19:2 心无知识的,乃为不善;脚步急快的,难免犯罪。

Also that a person be without knowledge is not good and he that hasteth with his feet maketh false steps.

1911 人有见识,就不轻易发怒,宽恕人的过失,便是自己的荣耀。

The discretion of a man maketh him slow to angerand it is his glory to pass over a transgression.

19:16 谨守戒命的,保全生命;轻忽己路的,必致死亡。

He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his soulhe that is careless of his ways shall die.

19:19 暴怒的人必受刑罚,你若救他,必须再救。

A man of great wrath shall suffer punishmentfor if thou deliver [him]yet thou must do it again.

20:1 酒能使人亵慢,浓酒使人喧嚷,凡因酒错误的,就无智慧。

Wine is a scornerstrong drink is ragingand whoso erreth thereby is not wise.

20:3 远离纷争,是人的尊荣;愚妄人都爱争闹。

It is an honour for a man to cease from strifebut every fool rusheth into it.

20:19 往来传舌的泄漏密事,大张嘴的,不可与他结交。

He that goeth about talebearing revealeth secretstherefore meddle not with him that openeth his lips.

20:22 你不要说,我要以恶报恶。要等候耶和华,祂必拯救你。

Say notI will recompense evil: wait on Jehovahand he shall save thee.

20:25 人冒失说,〔这是〕圣物,许愿之后才查问,就是自陷网罗。

It is a snare to a man rashly to sayIt is hallowedand after vows to make inquiry

21:5 殷勤筹划的,足致丰裕;行事急燥的,都必缺乏。

The thoughts of the diligent [tend] only to plenteousn- essbut of every one that is hastyonly to want.

21:17 爱宴乐的,必致穷乏;好酒,爱膏油的,必不富足。

He that loveth mirth shall be a poor manhe that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.

21:20 智慧人家中〔积蓄〕宝物膏油,愚昧人随得来随吞下。

There is costly store and oil in the dwelling of a wise [man]but a foolish man swalloweth it up.

21:23 谨守口与舌的,就保守自己免受灾难。

Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.

智慧七柱:谦卑Humility

11:2 骄傲来,羞耻也来,谦逊人却有智慧。

[When] pride comeththen cometh shamebut with the lowly is wisdom.

11:12 藐视邻舍的,毫无智慧,明哲人却静默不言。

He that despiseth his neighbour is void of heartbut a man of understanding holdeth his peace.

11:14 无智谋,民就败落;谋士多,人便安居。

Where no advice isthe people fallbut in the multitude of counsellors there is safely.

12:1 喜爱管教的,就是喜爱知识;恨恶责备的,却是畜类。

Whoso loveth discipline loveth knowledgebut he that hateth reproof is brutish.

12:9 被人轻贱,却有仆人,强如自尊,缺少食物。

Better is he that is lightly esteemedand hath a servantthan he that honoureth himselfand lacketh hread.

12:15 愚妄人所行的,在自己眼中看为正直,惟智慧人肯听人的劝教。

The way of a fool is right in his own eyesbut he that is wise hearkeneth unto counsel.

13:1 智慧子〔听〕父亲的教训,亵慢人不听责备。

A wise son [heareth] his father's instructionbut a scorner heareth not rebuke.

13:10 骄傲只启争竞,听劝言的,却有智慧。

By pride there only cometh contentionbut with the well-advised is wisdom.

13:13 藐视训言的,自取灭亡,敬畏诫命的,必得善报。

Whoso despiseth the word shall be held by itbut he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.

13:18 弃绝管教的,〔必致〕贫受辱;领受责备的,必得尊荣。

Poverty and shame shall be [to] him that refuseth instructionbut he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured.

14:3 愚妄人口中骄傲,如杖责打己身;智慧人的嘴,必保守自己。

In the fool's mouth is a rod of pridebut the lips of the wise shall preserve them.

14:6 亵慢人寻智慧,却寻不着;聪明人易得知识。

A scorner seeketh wisdomand there is none [for him]but knowledge is easy unto the intelligent.

14:16 智慧人惧怕,就远离恶事;愚妄人却狂傲自恃。

A wise [man] feareth and departeth from evilbut the foolish is overbearing and confident.

15:5 愚妄人藐视父亲的管教,领受责备的,得着见识。

A fool despiseth his father's instructionbut he that regardeth reproof becometh prudent.

15:10 舍弃正路的,必受严刑;恨恶责备的,必致死亡。

Grievous correction is for him that forsaketh the pathhe that hateth reproof shall die.

15:12 亵慢人不爱受责备,他也不就近智慧人。

A scorner loveth not one that reproveth himhe will not go unto the wise.

15:22 不先商议,所谋无效;谋士众多,所谋乃成。

Without counsel purposes are disappointedbut in the multitude of counsellors they are established

15:25 耶和华必拆毁骄傲人的家,却要立定寡妇的地界。

Jehovah plucketh up the house of the proudbut he establisheth the boundary of the widow.

15:31 听从生命责备的,必常在智慧人中。

The ear that heareth the reproof of life shall abide among thewlse.

15:32 弃绝管教的,轻看自己的生命,听从责备的,却得智慧。

He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soulbut he that heareth reproof getteth sense.

15:33 敬畏耶和华,是智慧的训诲,尊荣以前,必有谦卑。

The fear of Jehovah is the discipline of wisdomand before honour [goeth] humility.

16:5 凡心里骄傲的,为耶和华所憎恶,〔虽然〕连手,他必不免受罚。

Every proud heart is an abomination to Jehovah: hand for handhe shall not be held innocent.

16:18 骄傲在败坏以先;狂心在跌倒之前。

Pride [goeth] before destructionand a haughty spirit before a fall.

16:19 心里谦卑与穷乏人来往,强如将掳物骄傲人同分。

Better is it to be of a humble spirit with the meekthan to divide the spoil with the proud.

16:20 谨守训言的,必得好处,倚靠耶和华的,便为有福。

He that giveth heed to the word shall find goodand whoso confideth in Jehovahhappy is he.

16:33 签放在怀里,定事由耶和华。

The lot is cast into the lapbut the whole decision is of Jehovah.

17:10 一句责备的话深入聪明人的心,强如责打愚昧人一百下。

A reproof entereth more deeply into him that hath under- standing than a hundred stripes into a fool.

17:19 喜爱争竞的,是喜爱过犯;高立家门的,乃自取败坏。

He loveth transgression that loveth a quarrelhe that maketh high his gate seeketh destruction.

18:1 与众寡合的,独自寻求心愿,并恼恨一切真智慧。

He that separateth himself seeketh [his] pleasurehe is vehement against all sound wisdom.

18:12 败坏之先,人心骄傲;尊荣以前,必有谦卑。

Before destruction the heart of man is haughtyand before honour [goeth] humility.

18:13 未曾听完先回答的,便是他的愚昧和羞辱。

He that giveth answer before he hearethit is folly and shame unto him.

18:18 掣签能止息争竞,也能解散强胜的人。

The lot causeth contentions to ceaseand parteth between the might.

19:20 你要听劝教、受训诲,使你终久有智慧。

Hear counseland receive instructionthat thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.

19:25 鞭打亵慢人,愚蒙人必长见识;责备明哲人,他就明白知识。

Smite a scornerand the simple will bewarereprove the intelligentand he will understand knowledge.

21:4 恶人发达,眼高心傲,这乃是罪〔发达原文作〕。

Lofty eyesand a proud heartthe lamp of the wickedis sin.

21:11 亵慢的人受刑罚,愚蒙的人就是得智慧。智能人受训诲,便得知识。

When the scorner is punishedthe simple becometh wiseand when the wise is instructedhe receiveth knowledge.

21:24 心骄气傲的人,名叫亵慢,他行事狂妄,都出于骄傲。

Proudarrogantscorner is his name who dealeth in proud wrath.
